Minako and her personality are very in tune with her senshi element, love. She is bubbly, a positive thinker, and has endless amounts of energy. She can be manipulative at times, and always wears her heart on her sleeve. Minako also often doesn't think things through well enough, and can occasionally be hurtful through her careless words. She doesn't seem especially close to any of the senshi, or, ironically, to any male. Supposedly this is because in the manga, her soulmate was killed during the silver millenium, making her doomed never to be with a man.
Perhaps due to the demands of her role as leader of the senshi, she has excellent leadership skills and often takes command of the group.
